Malaysian actress Yeo Yann Yann will be expanding her acting career in Taiwan, as she has signed a contract with a Taiwanese management company yesterday.
While speaking to the media, the Ilo Ilo star said that she has been struck by the “Golden Horse curse”, as she has not received any new projects ever since her “Best Supporting Actress” win at the awards ceremony last year.
According to Yann Yann, her image as a housewife in Ilo Ilo left such a deep impression that producers have invited her to act as a “grandmother”, causing the 37-year-old to feel extremely indignant.
Now in talks for a new movie, the actress is considering raising and educating her 20-month-old daughter, Vera Mak, in Taiwan. Should the plans come to fruition, Yann Yann will be enlisting the help of her mother and sister-in-law to look after the toddler.
“Sometimes I get jealous when I see her being close to my mother or sister-in-law. I wonder what’s wrong with me!” she exclaimed.
