On Monday, Korean actor Lee Byung Hun was reported to have been blackmailed by two women, who allegedly threatened to release a video clip of him drinking and using lewd language, in exchange for 5 billion Korean won (approximately S$6 million).
After receiving the threats last Thursday, Byung Hun immediately informed his company and reported the case to the police. The two women were later revealed to be Da Hee, member of girl group GLAM, and a 24-year-old model known as “B”.
An arrest warrant for Da Hee and “B” was issued by the Gangnam Police Office on the charges of attempted blackmail. A representative from GLAM’s agency, Big Hit Entertainment also stated that the singer has admitted to and apologised for her misbehaviour, and the management is now in discussion over the next course of action.
According to Korean media, Byung Hun previously invited a group of friends, including Da Hee and “B” whom he was introduced to by a mutual friend, to a drinking session.
Yesterday, a Korean TV station exposed a video which allegedly contained sexual conversations between Byung Hun and the two ladies. In the clip, the IRIS star was found asking Da Hee and “B” questions such as “When was your first sexual experience?” and “Which part of the male body turns you on?”.
The news was especially shocking as Byung Hun and his wife, actress Lee Min Jung, have been dubbed the industry’s model couple, after they tied the knot last year.
