IS this the best Obama interview ever?
In an attempt to encourage America’s young people to register for health insurance, the US president was interviewed by actor Zach Galifianakis as part of his brilliant Between Two Ferns series on
Funny or Die.
“I have to say, when I heard that people actually watch this show, I was actually surprised,” a typically straight-faced Mr Obama said to Galifianakis.
The actor then launched into a series of questions ranging from sending “Ambassador Rodman” to “North Ikea” to the annual White House tradition of pardoning a Thanksgiving turkey.
“We’ll probably pardon another turkey. We do that every Thanksgiving. Was that depressing to you – seeing one turkey taken out of circulation, a turkey you couldn’t eat?” says Mr Obama said with a smirk.
“What is it like to be the last black President?” asked Galifianakis. “Seriously?” replied Mr Obama.
Mr Obama even got in a few digs of his own; when Galifianakis asked him whether it annoyed him that he couldn’t run for a third term, Mr Obama responded, “Actually, I think it’s a good idea. If I ran a third time, it would be like doing a third Hangover movie. Didn’t really work out very well, did it?”
He also needled the actor about the popularity of his Hangover co-star, Bradley Cooper, adding, “he kind of carried that movie, didn’t he?”
“Bradley Cooper…” mumbled Galifianakis.
“Everybody loves Bradley… Being like that in Hollywood, that’s easy. Be short, fat, and smell like Doritos and try to make it in Hollywood.”
