Hong Kong actor Nick Cheung and Chinese screen darling Tang Wei brought home the “Best Actor” and “Best Actress” trophies at the 21st Beijing College Student Film Festival last weekend for their outstanding performances in Unbeatable and Finding Mr. Right, respectively.
While giving his acceptance speech, Nick said that he has starred in many “good and lousy films”, but the thought of quitting acting has never crossed his mind.
Tang Wei had the audience, which was mostly made up of university students, screaming “Goddess” when she went on stage to receive her prize. She said: “Becoming an actress is a path that I chose. I enjoy what I do very much, and if I had to choose 100 times over, I’d still want to be an actress.”
Additionally, Hong Kong-based actress-model Angelababy and Taiwanese actress Kwai Lun-mei were awarded the “Most Popular Female Actress” titles at the ceremony. “This is the best Mother’s Day gift for my mum,” Angelababy chimed.
When asked to name her favourite onscreen partner, Angelababy, who recently went public about her relationship with Chinese heartthrob Huang Xiaoming, indirectly made a “love declaration”, saying, “You guys know who it is!”
