American actor Mark Wahlberg requested for Michael Bay, the director of Transformers: Age of Extinction, to cast him and Chinese actress, Li Bingbing, as lovers in the fifth Transformers movie.
The 17th Shanghai International Film Festival concluded on Sunday, and as the closing film for the prestigious event, the cast and director of Transformers: Age of Extinction held a press conference on Sunday afternoon.
Bingbing, 41, plays the role of Su Yueming, the CEO of the Chinese transformers. When asked if she had a heavyweight role in the movie, the actress replied shyly, “[It’s] still okay.”
Despite the fact that she doesn’t play a major role in the movie, both Michael and Mark, who plays lead character Cade Yeager, were extremely supportive of her – Michael even revealed that a few action scenes had been added just for her.
Mark also jokingly requested to play lovers with Bingbing if there is a fifth Transformers movie. Bingbing quipped in reply, “If there is [a fifth movie], I’ll be sure to prepare in advance.”
Other than being well-received by her co-stars, the thespian also enjoyed massive popularity on the red carpet for the 17th Shanghai Film Festival later that day.
She appeared on the red carpet at 6:30pm in a bright yellow gown that showed off her long legs, driving the crowd into a frenzy as reporters fervently snapped pictures of her stunning visage.
