Newlyweds Taiwanese actor Mark Chao and Chinese actress Gao Yuanyuan are rumoured to be holding their wedding banquet earlier in order to avoid a clash with pop king Jay Chou’s wedding next year.
At that time, Mark’s manager said the couple had yet to fix a date for the wedding banquet. “Both parties (Mark and Yuanyuan) have a jam-packed schedule and [lots of jobs] that are still in discussion. When [we] settle on a date, [we’ll] let everyone know.”
However, an insider revealed that the newlyweds had originally planned to hold their wedding banquet early next year in Taipei, but decided to move it forward to December this year after Jay announced his plans to get married by January.
A hotel personnel claimed that Yuanyuan came to Taiwan recently to visit a few hotels, such as Le Meridien, W Hotel, Mandarin Oriental and the Palais de Chine Hotel, in preparation for the banquet.
When the media approached Palais de Chine for confirmation, the hotel replied they had indeed met up with Yuanyuan but were unable to accommodate the actress’ preferred date and venue as they were not available.
Additionally, Mark’s manager also responded: “Both artistes are low-profile people. They will decide on their personal matters; the company will not respond on their behalf.”
